In Student Senate this week:
There will be another co-op thesis forum during lunch hour on the 6th week's Thursday in the Academic Building, room 1817. Since the definition of what counts as a co-op term is more open-ended than in recent years, there may be a bit of confusion as to what does and does not constitute a co-op term; this forum should help alleviate the confusion. The various department heads will be there to answer questions, so if you're not sure whether or not your planned co-op is legitimate, then head on down.
As a resolution of Senate elections last week: Bryannan Santo has been elected as the new freshman representative, finally forming a complete Senate. Congratulations!
Just as a bookkeeping reminder: club budgeting forms are due 5th Friday, and Battle of the Bucks forms are due 6th Friday. Clubs will be notified by 7th Tuesday if they have received any money. For reference, there is about $4000 to battle out this term.
Speaking of money for clubs, there is still plenty of capital left over for clubs that are planning on making a long-term investment in the new and reusable. Just remember to fill out the capital request form.

Ops Council Meeting 02/03/2010
A rough formulation of Diversity Week (7th week) has been recently established. Here are the tentative details:

- The usual T-shirts will be handed out on Monday in the Great Court.
- As stated in a previous post, a Haiti fundraising effort will also take place during this week. A bar chart (presumably located in the GC) will display a certain goal that is desired to be met. The various Greek houses will also be able to get in on the action through a "penny war", for those familiar with the term from high school or wherever. There's also a possibility that Hydrade will contribute water filters to the Haiti relief effort.
- In the past, various clubs have taken over certain sections of a day to do a special promotion. That may or may not happen again this year.
- The faculty may be involved in Wednesday's event, most likely an iteration of Quiz Bowl. It is best described as a team version of Jeopardy for those unfamiliar with the game.
- Diversity week will close in the International Room via either one of two events: a dance or (most likely, given its nature) a diversity food-fest.
- There is approximately $6000 to allocate to the week's events.
